Types of Resume
There are three types of resume:- Functional Resume
- Chronological Resume
- Combination Resume
Functional Resume (Skills Resume)
It is for fresh graduates and students. This resume emphasizes on your skills and capabilities. It is useful for people who are just entering the job market. Functional resumes follow this sequence:- Name and Contact Details
- Objective
- Skills
- Education
- Projects
- Work Experience or Internship (If any)
- Achievements or Awards
- Additional Capabilities
- Interests
Chronological Resume
It is time structured resume. In a chronological resume, the work experience section dominates and is placed in the most prominent slot. We develop this section by listing jobs sequentially in reverse order, beginning with the most recent position. It is useful if you have strong employment history and aiming for a job that builds on your current career path. It follows this sequence:- Name and Contact Details

- Work Experience
- Education
- Skills
- Projects
- Achievements or Awards
- Additional Capabilities

Combinational Resume
A combinational resume combines the best approaches of Functional and Chronological resume.Have a look at this template.
Composing A Resume
A resume may contain following section:Name and Contact Information
This section includes:- Your name is capital letters
- Physical address
- E-mail address (Make sure your e-mail looks professional and contain your name like yourname@gmail.com
- Phone Number
- URL of personal website or portfolio
Objective
It is optional to write an objective. Write the objective strong, concise and convincing. Like,"An IT Professional with CAN DO attitude who is eager to learn and always ready to seek new experiences, having hands-on knowledge of Software Development."
"To obtain an event coordinator position that requires skills in planning, supervision, and communication."
These objectives clearly define the nature of position desired by the applicant.
Skills & Technical Expertise (Only for Technical positions)
List your skills and technologies that you know, but remember that anything you list here interviewer will be going to test it. Also mention it with level of expertise For Example Java (Expert), C++ (Prior Experience), etcEducation

Projects
Mention your best 1-3 projects with their URL's (any pdf file or video uploaded on YouTube)Work Experience
Mention internship experience and all employment history. This section includes:- organization name
- your designation
- your responsibilities
- duration of employment
Achievements
Mention your scholarship achievements and award-winning.Whenever possible, you should quantify your accomplishments. For example, If you won an award, out of how many people?. Like,
"Secured 5th position in DICE Virtual Innovation Competition (DICE VIC) organizes by NED Entrepreneurship Society. My team was selected out of 200 teams."
Additional Capabilities
- Write about your communication, writing and leadership activities.
- Mention your tutoring experience, if you ever give tuitions to junior or your class fellows, mention it.
- Mention your open source contribution, or volunteering experience, if any.
Interests
This section is optional to add.Write about your reading, playing games, watching motivational videos, designing or any other interests.
